All of the globe is aware of what occured on 11 September 2001. However, what most people aren't aware of is that on 10 September 2001 I lost my best freind of 18 years.
My dear freind Ezell is gone, and he has been buried.
I spent a tremendous amount of time contemplating life and death, as well as my personal contribution to humanity in general after these to devastating events took place. Finally I came to a conclusion ... I want to be happy while I help.
To make an already too long story short, I have changed my major.
I don't want to be defined by my career. I want to be defined by the family I have raised and Loved, and by the people I have been able to help.
So ... what's the new major right??? :-)
I am now majoring in Pre-Law Political Science. After I am finished here at WSU (Washington State University), I am transfering to Gonzaga University to attend Law School.
No, I don't want to be a corporate attorney. No, I don't want to be a slimey criminal defense attorney. What I do want is to focus on family law, and volunteer as much time as I can as a Gaurdian Ad Litem. I want to help those who can't help themselves.
Gonzaga is in Spokane Washington for those of you who may not know. This will work out quite well, as Gloria must finish her Nursing school in Spokane. In a way, we are going to be able to get the proverbial two birds with that one stone. :-)
Even though the events surrounding those two terrible days in September will forever bring sorrow to my heart, I have chosen to not allow them to dictate sorrow for any longer than was necessary. Just as America has shown, I too will survive and move forward.
